CSS & Keyword Density

So many websites I review still use html tables for page layout.  If a web designer is focused only on the appearance of the web pages, he/she may question what’s wrong with table layout.

Well, one reason for using CSS for page layout is good, white hat SEO.  Keyword density is a priority in organic, white hat SEO, and creating web page layout with CSS increases keyword density.  Tables require a lot of markup – much more than CSS.  The less markup, the higher the keyword density.  The more markup, the lower the keyword density.  Content is king in SEO and keywords are the jewels in the royal crown. So let the keywords shine through – higher keyword density, by reducing markup.  Valid CSS is an excellent SEO start.

Later I will discuss the ease of maintenance that CSS supports.
